Newark & Sherwood Case Study

SCOPE

Project scope

Newark and Sherwood Homes Ltd are providers of housing management services to Newark and Sherwood District Council. They are independently accredited and provide high-quality homes in and around Newark and Sherwood District.

Newark and Sherwood Homes Ltd wanted to provide a controllable, safe, and easy-to-use heating and hot water solution for their low-rise blocks of independent living properties.

SOLUTION

The solution

Enviroheat replaced the existing old and inefficient storage heaters and economy 7 cylinders with:

  • EconoRad, a revolutionary heating system specifically designed to use minimum electrical energy to produce the same heat output as other electrical heating systems.
  • EconoCylinder, a Hot Water Cylinder integrated with HET technology that uses 30% less energy on average than other cylinders.
  • Evohome, an Intuitive intelligent heat programming that lets you create and control up to 12 smart heating zones.

This combination provided customers with a more controllable and energy-efficient electric heating system.

FEEDBACK

Feedback

The customers were happy with the reduction in running costs, enjoyed the controllability, and appreciated the simple design of the EconoRad heaters, the hot water they felt lasted longer too.

  • A Vale View customer

This new heating and hot water system is absolutely fantastic. For the first time since I moved into this flat I’ve been able to have a bath after 5pm because the old system was an Economy 7 cylinder. I’ve got hot water whenever I want. The heating and hot water is currently using 11.1 kW per day because I’ve been monitoring the Watt Meters provided. I have my heating on for around 8 hours a day, and my hot water on all the time, it’s costing me about £1.60 a day – a significant saving from my old E7 system.
