Trafford Housing Trust is an independent housing company providing around 9,000 quality affordable homes within the Trafford area of Manchester. They strive for a society transformed, free from poverty, inequality, and injustice, and are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of their homes.
Enviroheat were asked to specify and supply an effective, low carbon, more energy-efficient, heating and hot water system to replace the existing storage heater and economy 7 systems fitted throughout a series of 1990’s construction low rise 2 storey flats.
The Trafford Housing Trust scheme was an independent living scheme for over 55s, so the systems needed to be safe, easy to control and provide higher levels of thermal comfort.
Our team surveyed the properties and replaced the existing storage heater and economy 7 systems with EconoRad – a revolutionary heating system specifically designed to use minimum electrical energy to produce the same heat output as other electrical heating systems. Paired with our copper vented and combination fortic EconoCylinder, a Hot Water Cylinder integrated with HET technology that uses 30% less energy on average than other cylinders
Results & feedback
After the heating and hot water system were installed, customer feedback was excellent in regard to the heating and how water, customers were warmer into the evenings and noted a minimal change in their billing. The safe surface temperature of the products was a significant area where customers were pleased.
